Tucker's Birthday

Tucker loves sports and is very good at them. The one that he is especially interested in right now is soccer. So we decided to do a whole soccer theme for his birthday. He was very excited to see all the decorations and his cake.
Aidan didn't quite get the fact that these were Tucker's toys. It's a good thing Tucker is pretty good at sharing

I just love how kids open presents that are in bags with tissue paper. The tissue always goes flying!

I wish that you could see the look that was on his face. He was so excited about his present from Mommy and Daddy. Whenever you get a gift for your kids, you think you've picked out something that they will LOVE. Sometimes we're totally off! This time, however, we got it right on the nose! He really loves it.

I don't think I have ever posted why we have these layered birthday cakes. Chad's Grandma Peterson bought cake pans for this layered cake when her kids were young. From then on she always made a layered chocolate-chocolate birthday cake. When Chad's parents got married she gave them a set of the cake pans. The tradition continued from there. And now the cakes are being made for the fourth generation! I love being able to carry on this fun tradition.

I put this on there 'cause it's just cute!

Isabel's Blessing

It's been a while since I've been able to blog. Things are getting a little more crazy as Isabel is getting older. She was blessed a month ago and I am just now getting around to posting some pictures.
This is me dressing her in her pretty dress with big brother looking on.

I just love this picture!

There are some more pics from that day that I want to put on here. But, they are on Chad's laptop and he is at work. I will have to update it later.

All Dressed Up And Oh So Cute!!

Sometimes you get one of those pictures that you can't believe turned out so good. This is one of those pictures!! I couldn't have hoped for a better picture. I might be a tad bit partial, but I think they are the cutest kids in the whole world!

This is Isabel with her cousin Maile.

Easter Egg Hunts

This is the boys discovering what the Easter Bunny had left them: candy and soccer balls.

I made Isabel this headband and interchangable flowers. I love all the little girl stuff!
Tucker LOVED hunting for the eggs that the Easter Bunny had left for him. Holidays get funner and funner the older they get.
Aidan just kept picking up the eggs and opening them, spilling the contents all over the floor. And then doing a mad dash for the candy as I rushed to pick them up. SO much fun! (that's a little sarcastic)

Another egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Peterson's house later in the day.

Aidan tripped and spilled his eggs all over. I just couldn't help but smile and take a picture.

First Real Smiles

Isabel started to smile for real around 6 1/2 weeks. I haven't gotten a picture of a really good one, but this is a little taste.

Funny Blog

Check out my funny/serious/stupid blog...

Ask a question, why don't ya?

Rain and Other Oddities

I have been looking out the window periodically for about the past three hours. No change; still raining. Rain is defined as condensation of atmospheric water vapor that becomes heavy enough to fall. I prefer to think of it as cloud sweat.

Whenever I look up at the sky, one question always comes to me: Why is the sky blue?

To be honest, the sky has no color. Blue is what our brains perceive, but not in reality what our eyes see.

Outer space is black, but nothing is there. Why is it that nothing has a color? When I paint with all the colors I get a blackish hue. So would that mean that space is all the colors, or none of the colors?

So if the sky has no color and space has no color, why then is the water in lakes and oceans blue? Can we really know why things are the way they are?

So many questions coming from one single rainy day. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why you ask why? Why is such a simple question, but probably the most important question you can ask.

Is there something inherent in us that makes us look for truth and to ask "Why?" Is there something that causes us to look for the divine in something as seemingly mundane as a rainstorm?

God.

Six weeks old!

I can't believe she is six weeks old! It has gone by so fast. But, at the same time it feels like she has been with us forever. Everytime we bring home a baby it's like a missing puzzle piece has been added to our family. I just love our little family. As crazy as it is to have three kids this young, I wouldn't trade it for the world!

The Obsession Begins...

We took the boys to the car show and they both really enjoyed it. Tucker wanted to climb in everything! He kept pointing at all the cars, telling us what color they were or if they were big or little.
Aidan didn't really like this one. Tucker, on the other hand, liked it so much that he started climbing in that hole that he is looking in right after we took the picture.

Ahh. That's better! He liked the trucks.
